CORE VALUES OF THE WESLEYAN CHURCH
Core Values are constant, passionate, biblical core beliefs that drive a church. They communicate what we believe is important. They help us to embrace positive change. They help to shape our church by influencing what we do and where we will go.

A Commitment to Evangelism – We believe that lost people matter to God and therefore ought to matter to each Christian and the church. (Luke 5:30-32; Luke 15; Matthew 18:12-14)

A Commitment to Discipleship – We believe that becoming a Christian is not the end but a beginning. Each Christian should manifest authenticity and yearn for continuous growth in one's relationship with Jesus Christ. (sanctification /holiness) (Hebrews 12:1; Hebrews 6:1; II Peter 1:5-6)

A Commitment to Prayer – We believe that prayer moves the hand of God and is a key
ingredient to the growth of a person and ministry. (I Chronicles 16:11; Matthew 7:7; Luke 18:1)

A Commitment to Ministry – We believe that each Christian has been given spiritual gifts and the church functions best when each person is using their gifts. (Romans 12:4-8; I Corinthians 12:12-31; Ephesians 4:11-13)

A Commitment to Fellowship – We believe that loving relationships should permeate every aspect of church life. (Acts 2:42; Philippians 1:3-5; Proverbs 27:17)

A Commitment to Family – We believe that the church should be a place where the whole family and its relationships can be strengthened and grow. (Acts 16:33-34; Ephesians 5:22-33, 6:1-4)

A Commitment to being Bible-based – We believe that the Bible and the Bible alone holds the transforming truth for mankind and is the foundation for all teaching and ministry. (II Timothy 3:16, Psalm 119:105)

A Commitment to Excellence – We believe that excellence honors God and inspires people. (Colossians 3:17, II Timothy 2:15)

A Commitment to Cultural Awareness – We believe that the church should recognize the times we live in and respond accordingly, while remaining doctrinally pure. (I Corinthians 9:19-23, I Chronicles 12:32)

A Commitment to Missions-mindedness – We believe that a Christian's responsibility to share the good news of Jesus Christ goes beyond just where a person lives. (Acts 1:8)
